Armed Forces Covenant Duty
The statutory Armed Forces Covenant Duty in the Armed Forces Act 2021 places a legal obligation on local authorities to have due regard to the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant when exercising certain functions, in healthcare, education and housing, that could impact the Armed Forces community. The Duty came into force on 22 November 2022.
Veteran Friendly GP Practices
The Oxted, Caterham, Lingfield, Smallfield and Warlingham Health Centres are accredited Veteran Friendly GP Practices helping family doctors and their staff to better identify and treat veterans and other members of the Armed Forces community. Veteran Friendly GP Practices Map

Advice and Guidance – Surrey County Council
Veterans Hubs Project are a relaxed place for veterans to drop in and share a cup of tea and the company of others who have served. They also provide a way to gain advice, support and services under one roof. This means a minimum of two services or charities available at least once a month. Veterans Hubs and Drop-ins Map
The Armed Forces Network Surrey is a partnership across Hampshire, Kent & Medway, Surrey and Sussex to promote understanding and awareness within public authorities and related sectors, including health, of the issues which affect the Armed Forces community in the South East.
Forces Connect is a free mobile app that signposts veterans, Armed Forces personnel, Reservists and their families to support and advice on a range of important issues including health, housing and education in their local area.
Veteran's Monthly Meet Up - The Oxted Branch of the Royal British Legion, 42 Church Lane, Oxted holds a free monthly meet up for all veterans at 1930 hrs on the first Wednesday of each month. A relaxed and fun evening currently including WW2 through to Afghan Veterans.
