We’re offering local businesses the chance to apply for a Business Support Grant of up to £1,000. You can use the grant to:
- Buy new equipment.
- Upgrade your shopfront.
- Train your team.
- Add energy-saving features.
Whether you’re a new or established business, you can apply for a one-off grant.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the grant, applicants must be:
- Aged 18 or over.
- Running a business based in the Tandridge district.
- A new or existing business looking to expand in the area.
- Able to complete the project by 31 March 2026.
How to apply
Apply: online. Applications close on Saturday 31 January 2026 (or sooner if funds run out).
Your project must be completed by 31 March 2026.
Grants are limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis.
What supporting information is needed
You will need:
- A business plan.
- One to three years' worth of financial forecasts.
- Estimates and details of costs.
- Written consent from your landlord for any works (if applicable).
- A mock up of the proposed works (if applicable).
Confirmation you have checked whether your project needs planning, licensing or advertising consent: policies and guidance.
Other information
- We are required to carry out business rates, planning permissions and licensing checks as part of your application.
- If your business is VAT registered and the expenditure will be used in the supply of VAT eligible goods or services, the grant will be made excluding VAT.
- Applications are for one-off grants only and will not cover any ongoing fees.
- The grant cannot cover the cost of any professional fees or a business looking to rebrand.
- Works which have already started before an application is made are not eligible.
- All applications are assessed on an individual basis.
What happens next
Businesses which meet the eligibility criteria will be invited for a short interview so we can find out more about your business and talk through your business plan, financials and goals.
Your face to face interivew will be with the Head of Corporate Resources and Economy and Projects Specialist.
When will the grant be paid
Grants will only be made following:
- A site visit to confirm the completion of the works.
- The submission of verifiable invoices as proof of costs.
- All conditions of the grant offer have been met.
Payment of the grant will be made by BACS payment where possible on completion of the work.
